Coral Reef Restoration with Coralive
Coral Reef Restoration with Coralive
About this course
Coral reefs are some of the most biodiverse ecosystems on Earth. Over 500 million people depend on them, along with a quarter of all marine life. Sadly, due to anthropogenic impacts such as climate change, pollution and unsustainable fishing practices, these vulnerable ecosystems face extinction at an alarming rate.
Thankfully, there is still hope to help coral reefs. In this course, Coralive will introduce you to basic knowledge about coral reefs and different solutions to support their health, ranging from specialised restoration techniques to simple actions you can take from home.
This short course contains basic advice on coral reef restoration and can be used as a theoretical introduction for marine biologists, conservationists and others who may be involved in reef restoration efforts. Those considering or attempting reef restoration should seek proper training, guidance and permissions before doing so.
