The Grow-Along Revolution: Food Growing Made Simple
Earthed Launches ‘Sow, Grow, Eat’ with Patrick Vernuccio & Poppy Okotcha. A six-month Grow-Along program helping people to build food sovereignty, regardless of their growing space.
With food prices soaring and an ongoing interest in pesticide-free organic food, Earthed is launching “Sow, Grow, Eat”, a six-month Grow-Along program designed to help anyone grow their own fresh, organic food. Whether it’s pots on a windowsill, balcony or an allotment, we want to support everyone to grow nourishing food at home.
In the UK, 82% of Britons reported that prices in shops are rising faster than their income (source: YouGov, Cost of Living Tracker, Nov 2024). Yet only 35% of adults are reported to grow their own herbs, fruits, or vegetable (YouGov Big Survey, Food, 2021). When we go around food we build our food sovereignty. We can control how our food is grown, without being impacted by chemicals, fluctuations in prices or transport. This guarantees the freshest, nourishing, seasonal food for us and our loved ones. Plus, it’s great for the planet!
Expert Guidance
Led by urban gardener Patrick Vernuccio and ecological home-grower Poppy Okotcha, this program is designed to strip away the complexity of growing food and make it accessible for all. Whether you have a balcony, garden, or just a few pots, participants will gain the confidence to cultivate their own produce, month by month.
Grow-Along host Patrick Vernuccio (The Frenchie Gardener) shares why he joined the campaign:
“I waited 36 years to plant my first seed and it changed my life! I’m so happy to be sharing practical tips with Earthed, to help you grow your own food. The revolution starts in your garden.”
On her involvement in hosting the learning journey, Poppy Okotcha says:
“Growing good food in a way that’s kind to nature is such a pleasure and in many ways deeply radicle. I can’t wait to share this season with in our 6 month container and connect in the live Q&A sessions!”
From March to August, members will receive step-by-step monthly video guides, covering:
What to sow and when
How to sow it for maximum success
How to maintain a thriving growing space
What to harvest and how to use it
But this is more than just an online learning experience—it’s a community. Participants will also have access to:
Monthly live Q&A sessions with Patrick, Poppy, and fellow growers
A seasonal workbook to stay on track
Exciting challenges and prizes to keep the journey engaging
